 Pre-SULAM

1.Since I have a experience being a resident in Kolej Allamanda which is our group’s community partner site, I already imagine that this site are kind of easy place to work on with large and open area. This is because while I was the resident there, I am not really aware of these termites issues, so I guess the working planned should be easy and able to be done smoothly as planned.

22. My personal preceptions about the agency that our group will be working with is kind of people that will be easy to deal with. I also have a thought that will fully support our ideas to do community sevices at their sites or areas. This is because, the agency that we will be working which is the staff and residents of Kolej Allamanda are part of UNIMAS itself so they might be more familiar and understandable with this community services that will be handle by students hence they are willing to gives a good cooperation with our group.

33. We have a proper discussion among group members which lead by our group leader. Since, there are two of our group member are currently at Kolej Allamanda at the moment, and some of group members claimed that they have experienced these termites infestations issues and often heard other student complaint regarding this issue, thus, we all decided to work on termite infestations issues in Kolej Allamanda,UNIMAS.

44.   The fear that I have before starts working in the community is not getting exciting and satisfying responds from the targeted community which is students who lives in Kolej Allamanda,UNIMAS. This is because, if they did not gives positive feedbacks on our project, then the main ojectives which is spread awareness and knowledge about termites are not succesfully achieve.

During-SULAM

  1. While working on this community service, I have been more aware and gained more knowledge about termite infestations. Thus, it makes me realize that I should always aware about something like this so that no serious problems will happen in future.Other than that, I also realizes that as I have information about this issues, hence I should spread the awareness and information to other people especially the residents of Kolej Allamanda so that everyone can make better improvement on thi issue.

22. The skills that I acquired are able to work and communicate better as groups to deal with quite huge amount of people.Some of knowledge that I have acquired are type of termites and few ways to deal with termites problems. This is because we have to understand the whole things so that the audience can easily understand the messages that our group try to conveys and delivered to them.

33. This experience help me to understand ideas and subject that I have been studying is by go through to various informations about animal pests especially termite infestations through reliable sources. Then, as we have to share the knowledges to other people, hence this helps me to understands more in order to prevent miscommunications either with the group members itself or among the targeted community.

44. Two character traits that I have further developed during this experiences are I able to communicates better with my group members and other people as I want everyone understand what I try to delivered to each of them. The other one is I able to improves my ability and quality I creating interesting and understandble inforgrapical informations as a ways to conveys meaningful messaged to people.

55.  I can apply the knowledge that I have gained in my daily life wherever I am. It likes I able to prevent my wooden study table or cupboard from damage that caused by termites by applying certain prevention methods that I have learned such as declutter my room.

66.This service-learning experience have connect to my long-term goals which is by spreading the helpful related information regarding animal pest either to other people or myself hence, the issues that related to animal pest especially termites can be prevent and manage better that it used to be before the service-learning were conducted.

 

Post-SULAM

1. About the community, I have learnt that we should take care of each other and our surrounding so that we can prevent any unnecessary problems that will put ourselves in hard times. Hence, knowledge are importants and should be shares to everyone so that everything will be more understandble and manageable in the future.

2.The strength of this project is people especially the targeted community receives the informations very well and gives positive feedback on it as everything have been done since there are various of interesting and attractive ways used to delivered the messages.The weakness of the projects is there are no face-to-face or real life interactions occurred between the project organizers and the community due to the MCO hence we cannot really see or knows the exact reponds from audiences.

3.The challenge and problem that have been experienced by our group is some of us have internet connection issues hence meetings and discussion cannot been done in longer periods but everything are manageable and everyone stil can cooperate well.Since there are no real-life interaction among group member or community hence some of the informations might left behind.

4. Yes. In my point of view, everything turn out the way as what we expect it to be. This is because, there are many people follow up to our accounts and posted informations. Other than that, everyone are giving positive feebacks are to each informations and questions that created by our team. Hence, the objectives were achieved.

5. The impact of our service to community is they able to gained more helpful informations regarding animal pests especially termites. Hence, they able to point out their problems regarding termite infestation and apply they knowledge that they have got such as way to prevent this issues from continousy happen. This can be known and proved from the feedback given by the community through the evaluation form that have been created and spreaded by our group.

6. The most important lesson learned from the service learning is everyone should have proper knowledge and education about animal pests so that any problems that causes by pests can be solved and possibly can be prevent in the future for the sake of having a healthy life onwards.

7. The important skills that are important in conducting a successful service learning are by ensure the communication and interaction between organizer and targeted community are succeful in order to makes everything more understandable and can prevent misscommuncation. Next is skill to organized services project properly and systemically so that everything can be done easily, smoothly and achieving the objectives.

8. If our group were given the same tasks for the second time, there are possibality for us to conduct it differently. Some part such as spreading information through social medias and collect needed data for targeted community using google form maybe will be continously maintains. The improvements such as fun quizzes for the community and conducting webinar regarding animal pests which the talks will be given by the professional lecturers or any experts in this field. This is to ensure more close interactions with the community and thisc can leads to better understanding.
