Pre-SULAM  

1. As a former resident of Allamanda college from semester 2018/2019-1 until 2018/2019-2, the college has a major issue about termite infestation. I expect that the project will go easily and smoothly without any obstacle. Since the project site in the campus area, the staff will volunteers help us finish this project.
2. My personal perception that the agency will cooperate with us and give enough information to do our community service. Since our agency is with Allamanda college staff, we quite familiar with the agency we work with and the staff is with 100% to cooperate with us to overcome this problem and create awareness to the residents.
3. The college has a major issue about termite infestation with almost the frame of the bed and closet in the room are damaged by termite. I have a personal experience when the bed collapsed because of the frame supported it become weak due to termite infestation. This problem need to be solved as soon as possible.
4. My fear that our community service is not satisfying the agency as we encounter so much difficulties such as some our team member is their hometown and unable to return to UNIMAS due pandemic. Lack of direct communication with the agency to gain information and not enough information also can bring flaw to the project. Negative feedback also can bring the bad perception from the college and make justification that our project doesn't bring positive outcome.

 

During-SULAM

1. This is a valuable experience and it thought many valuable lesson while working on this service-learning. Termite infestation is a major threat to college resident. Who knew that this tiny organism can bring damage to the college infrastructure.With knowledge I gain, it is important to spread the awareness to the college residents to overcome this issue.
2. We work in a group where each one of us is given a task to work on. I manage become more confident by improving my communication skill with my team member and frequently ask to gain more knowledge from them. Moreover, I assigned to manage a social media boost my intellectual and creativity in creating content to approach the community about the harm that termite could bring. The information spreaded is crucial to educate the society and spread the awareness. Teamwork is crucial in every work group to ensure the project going smoothly.
3. As a student, this experience helps me better to understand the ideas or subject by gaining more information, feedback and support from the college staff. The more I read, the more I gain. By searching through the internet, abundance of information about termite i found and this information will eventually educate the society especially the college residents. I hope with the information spreaded, the resident will become more responsible in handling this issue properly. 
4. Firstly, I manage to become more responsible person in completing the task been assigned to me and its was crucial trait that I developed in helping to become a more responsible person. Moreover, second trait that I developed during the project is that communication skill. As a introvert person and rarely talk when surrounded by people, this project help me to train this skill and gain more confidence in approaching with my team member and the targeted community. 
5. With the COVID-19 pandemic unsettled, I manage to learn more. As the advancement of technology, people become more advance and information is become more convenient by a touch of a button. With the experience and knowledge that I had, it is useful for future uses as termite infestation become severe year by year. I will be happy using the skill and knowledge that I had to teach the society in preventing termite infestation so that they will not facing the severe consequence.
6. The service learning connect me with my long-term goal by developing some essential soft skill to educate the society. As a boy who once have a dream to become a teacher, this service learning gives out so much input on how to encourage yourself in sharing an opinion, communicate with our groupmate and solve a problem efficiently. This skill increases my motivation to become more to myself and helping education other people. 

Post-SULAM

1. From the service-learning itself, the community we approach is quite friendly and ready to cooperate with us by giving essential information. They aware about the issue and been fighting it for the last 15 years and with the service-learning introduce is introduce to the residents is to create more awareness about this issue. The residents tend to ignore this problem and by year this issue become worse. Hopefully, with intensive cooperation our group with the college staff can bring this issue to end.
2. This project has its own strength and weakness. The targeted community that we approach is willingly to give information, feedback and give a fully cooperation to conduct the service learning in the college area. With this information, we have the upper hand in conducting analysis and carry out proper action such as conducting a survey, poster and Instagram post to approach our community. However, the downside of this service learning is that we unable to communicate as a person with the targeted community and unable to conduct an interview to the staff and the resident about this matter to gain more information.
3. This learning service is a long term project and along the way various problem faced each of our member. Since MCO implemented in Malaysia, almost this project conducted online and meeting is crucial to organize and give task to the member. Most of us facing internet connection problem and unable to attend the meeting. Moreover, with other subject workload is almost unmanageable, time management is also information since all assignment has it own due date and in this period of time make each of our group member to become busy finishing their own work. Working online is also hard with time and internet connection problem.
4. Yes, each of our group member has it own responsibility and everything turn out what we expected. Although there is several flaws from the earlier plan, by creating Instagram account to spread information and creating a short survey about termite infestation is from our original plan in approaching our targeted community. From the feedback and number of respondents answering our survey indicate that the objective is achieved.
5. The service learning is almost an annual project in Allamanda college and its objective is almost the same which is to identify the pest responsible causing damage toward wooden structure in the college and create awareness to community especially college resident. Information that we gain and spread among community show that the objective is almost achievable. Numerous of positive feedback given from the community as this is crucial to evaluate how the community responded and implement the awareness we provide.
6. The most important lesson we learn that with teamwork the service can be done. Each group member is committed and give almost 100% effort toward the service. Every member has learn the damage can caused by a colony of termite and its crucial to plan a proper action to educate the community. With knowledge and proper action to solve this issue and possibly prevent this issue in near future. The college has suffer in financial because of termite infestation and hopefully with proper action conducted can reduce the college burden.
7. The most important skills in conducting service-learning is talking and approaching the community. With a proper communication and interaction with the targeted community, more information can be grinded and also boosting our self confidence in how to approach people by soft talk and hand gesture. However, communication skill is mostly scary for introvert person and can cause interview session to be interrupt. People can lose interest toward someone if their lack of confidence and stutter when talking and information unable to grinded. It is crucial as a student to posed good communication skill with another person. Moreover, time management is also important as each person are responsible with their own task and need to finish it in time given.
8. Firstly, the method that we use such as creating a social media platform to spread the information and surveying the respondent to collect their feedback will be maintained. The use of social media platform not only involve Instagram but also various social media account such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to attract even more people. Secondly, inviting expert to give a talk about termite infestation. This will boost the community to confidence about our service. Moreover, creating an awareness from poster and spread it around in the college area if MCO is not implemented and student are able going back to the campus. This action is to ensuring that the community know understand their role in this issue.
